Starting 18th in the No. 60 Kroger Ford Mustang Dark Horse for RFK Racing, Preece charged through a record 17 cautions and navigated sleet-covered asphalt on wet-weather tires to take the lead with 46 laps remaining. He held on to win by 1.752 seconds over William Byron, with Ryan Blaney third. The victory was the first Cup win of Preece's career and made him only the third driver to win the Clash before a points race, joining Jeff Gordon and Denny Hamlin. This officially licensed Lionel Racing diecast replicates Preece's Clash-winning No. 60 as it appeared in Victory Lane.
