Ryan Preece drives the No. 60 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for RFK Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series. The Berlin, Connecticut native joined the team in 2025 after Stewart-Haas Racing closed its doors, and he has since become one of RFK's most consistent performers.
Preece built his reputation on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, where he was one of the youngest series champions in history when he claimed the 2013 title with Flamingo Motorsports. He owns more than 25 Tour-Type Modified victories and was recently named one of the 40 Greatest Whelen Modified Tour drivers of all time. His Xfinity Series breakthrough came in 2017 at Iowa with Joe Gibbs Racing, when he held off teammate Kyle Benjamin for his first national series win.
In Cup, Preece's first full-time ride came with JTG Daugherty Racing from 2019 through 2021. He then spent 2023 and 2024 with Stewart-Haas before landing at RFK. His debut season with crew chief Derrick Finley produced career highs of 14 top-10 finishes and 133 laps led in 2025.
The 2026 season opened in dramatic fashion. Preece won the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium in February, charging from 18th in changing weather conditions to capture his first Cup Series victory in any format. He became the third driver to win the Clash before earning a points-paying Cup win, joining Jeff Gordon and Denny Hamlin. Preece lives in Kannapolis, North Carolina, with his wife Heather and their two children.
