Truck Series

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is the third tier of NASCAR's three national series. It is the only NASCAR series to race purpose-built trucks based on production pickup truck body styles. The series launched in 1995 as the SuperTruck Series, with the first race held February 5 at Phoenix International Raceway. Mike Skinner of Richard Childress Racing won the inaugural championship. The series adopted the Craftsman Truck Series name in 1996 under Sears' Craftsman tools brand sponsorship, ran as the Camping World Truck Series from 2009 through 2018 and again from 2021 through 2022, and operated briefly as the Gander Outdoors and Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series from 2019 through 2020. Stanley Black & Decker, which acquired the Craftsman brand in 2017, returned the series to its current name in 2023. The Truck Series serves as a developmental platform for emerging drivers, with Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, and many other Cup Series stars beginning their careers in trucks. Kyle Busch holds the all-time series wins record with 67 victories. Ron Hornaday Jr. holds the championship record with four titles. Chevrolet, Ford, and Toyota have competed in the series since its early years, with Toyota joining in 2004. Ram returned to NASCAR competition in 2026 after a 13-year absence, becoming the fourth current manufacturer in the series. The 2026 season is the 32nd in series history.
