Ross Chastain won the rain-shortened Charbroil 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 23, 2026, surviving one of the more chaotic paths to victory lane in recent memory. Driving the No. 9 Carolina Carports Chevrolet Camaro for JR Motorsports, Chastain took the lead on Lap 72 only to slide through oil and hit the outside wall, damaging the right side of his car. He held the top spot through the caution, then led the field when rain ended the race after 90 laps, holding off Jesse Love for the win. The victory was Chastain's first in the series since 2019 and his first for JR Motorsports. In victory lane, he paid tribute to the late Kyle Busch with a bow. This officially licensed Lionel Racing diecast replicates the race-winning No. 9 Carolina Carports Chevrolet, complete with the damage from that night at Charlotte.
