World Wide Technology Raceway is a 1.25-mile egg-shaped oval in Madison, Illinois, near St. Louis.
The track features 11 degrees of banking in turns one and two and 9 degrees in turns three and four, with 7 degrees on the straights. The facility opened in 1997 and is privately owned. The asymmetrical layout, with each end of the oval shaped differently, gives the track a distinctive character similar to Darlington but on a smaller scale.
The Cup Series debuted at World Wide Technology Raceway in 2022, joining a longtime IndyCar and Truck Series presence. The track has produced consistently competitive racing in its short Cup Series tenure. A win at World Wide Technology Raceway reflects mastery of an unconventional oval configuration that demands setup balance for two distinctly different ends of the track.
