Rockingham Speedway is a 0.94-mile D-shaped oval in Rockingham, North Carolina.
The track features 22 degrees of banking in turns one and two, 25 degrees in turns three and four, and 8 degrees on the straights. Rockingham opened in 1965 as North Carolina Motor Speedway and was reconfigured in 1969 to its current high-banked layout. The track was repaved in 2022 as part of a state-funded revival project. Ownership transferred to the International Hot Rod Association at the end of 2025.
Affectionately known as "The Rock," Rockingham hosted NASCAR Cup Series races from 1965 through 2004 before disappearing from the schedule. The track returned to NASCAR's calendar in 2025 with the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and Craftsman Truck Series, with both series scheduled to return on Easter weekend 2026. A win at Rockingham carries the dual weight of the track's classic Cup Series history and its modern revival.
