Pocono Raceway is a 2.5-mile triangular superspeedway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.
The track features three distinct turns with different banking: 14 degrees in turn one, 8 degrees in turn two ("the Tunnel Turn"), and 6 degrees in turn three. Pocono opened in 1971 and is owned by the Mattioli family. Each turn is modeled after a different track: turn one resembles Trenton Speedway, turn two mimics Indianapolis, and turn three evokes the Milwaukee Mile. The unique geometry has earned Pocono the nickname "The Tricky Triangle."
Pocono hosts a Cup Series race weekend and historically held two events per year. The track also runs sports car races and IndyCar events in the past. Drivers must adjust setup and driving technique three times per lap to handle each unique corner. A win at Pocono reflects mastery of one of the most distinctive layouts in motorsport.
