Dover Motor Speedway is a 1-mile concrete oval in Dover, Delaware.
The track features 24 degrees of banking in the turns and 9 degrees on the straights. Dover opened in 1969 and is owned by Speedway Motorsports. The concrete surface, in place since the track was repaved with concrete in 1995, produces a distinctive racing feel and high tire wear. The high-banked, high-speed configuration earned the track its nickname "The Monster Mile."
Dover hosts the NASCAR All-Star Race in 2026 for the first time, taking over from North Wilkesboro. Historically, Dover has hosted Cup Series points races throughout its history, including stints as a playoff venue. A win at Dover reflects mastery of a high-speed concrete oval where tire management and precise handling are critical.
