Corey Day drives the No. 17 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series. The Clovis, California native, born in 2006, is in his first full-time NASCAR season after signing with Hendrick as a developmental driver in December 2024.
Day comes from a sprint car background that traces to his father Ronnie, a longtime competitor in the discipline. He started on motorcycles at age five before transitioning to four wheels at ten, and built a deep dirt resume that includes the 2022 Chili Bowl Rookie of the Year award, the 2023 King of the West 410 NARC championship, and the 2024 Turkey Night Grand Prix victory. He is a three-time World of Outlaws Gold Cup winner.
His pavement transition began in 2025 with 11 starts at the second-tier level for Hendrick, including a fourth-place finish at Las Vegas, alongside nine Truck Series races for Spire Motorsports that produced a runner-up at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. The 2026 season has produced his breakthrough wins. Day swept stages at Rockingham in early April, then captured his first NASCAR national series victory in the Ag-Pro 300 at Talladega Superspeedway later that month, taking the lead on the final lap.
Day is paired with crew chief Adam Wall and represents Hendrick's first full-season O'Reilly Series entry since 2006. He is mentored at the team by 2021 and 2025 Cup champion Kyle Larson and works extensively in simulator development between race weekends.
