Cody Ware drives the No. 51 Rick Ware Racing entry in the NASCAR Cup Series. The team transitioned from Ford to Chevrolet for the 2026 season and entered into a new technical partnership with Richard Childress Racing.

Born February 28, 1995 in Mooresville, North Carolina, Ware is the son of team owner Rick Ware and grew up in his father's race shop. He came up through legends cars and late models before climbing through the lower NASCAR ranks and the IMSA sports car ladder. He has competed in the Rolex 24 at Daytona on multiple occasions.

Ware has been a fixture in the NASCAR Cup Series for several seasons with Rick Ware Racing, the family-owned team founded by his father. The team has historically operated as an underdog organization, with Ware delivering steady results within his equipment and budget. His best Cup results have come at superspeedway events, where the strategy and drafting opportunities can favor smaller teams.

For the 2026 season, Rick Ware Racing's switch to Chevrolet and its new technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing represented a significant change in resources and competitive direction.
