Chicagoland Speedway is a 1.5-mile tri-oval intermediate in Joliet, Illinois, southwest of Chicago.
The track features 18 degrees of banking in the turns, 11 degrees on the frontstretch, and 5 degrees on the backstretch. Chicagoland opened in 2001 and is owned by NASCAR. The track sits adjacent to Route 66 Raceway, a drag-racing facility built into the same complex.
Chicagoland hosted NASCAR Cup Series races from 2001 through 2019 before going dormant for several years. NASCAR announced the track's return in August 2025, with the Cup Series scheduled to race at the oval on Independence Day weekend in 2026 for the first time in seven years. The track has historically produced competitive racing and several memorable finishes, including the Kyle Busch versus Kyle Larson "slide job" duel in the 2018 race. A win at Chicagoland reflects mastery of a balanced intermediate layout.
