Carson Hocevar drives the No. 77 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series. The Portage, Michigan native, born January 28, 2003, was named the 2024 Sunoco Rookie of the Year after a season that drew both attention for his speed and scrutiny for several on-track incidents.

Hocevar made his name in the Truck Series, where he collected six wins between 2022 and 2023 driving for Niece Motorsports. He moved to Spire as a substitute driver in 2023 before locking down the full-time No. 77 ride for 2024. The young driver has been candid about his learning curve at the Cup level, including a public effort to address criticism over aggressive driving following incidents in 2025.

His breakthrough win came at Talladega Superspeedway in April 2026 in his 91st Cup start. Hocevar emerged from a chaotic late restart to claim his first Cup victory, then climbed onto the window of his car for an emotional celebration that became one of the season's signature images. He had come close two months earlier at the Daytona 500, where he led at the white flag before being turned into the wall on the final lap.

Through the first nine races of 2026, Hocevar posted career-highs in nearly every statistical category. He continues to work with the No. 77 team alongside Spire teammates Daniel Suárez and Michael McDowell.
