Bubba Wallace drives the No. 23 Toyota Camry XSE for 23XI Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series, where he was the team's inaugural driver upon its 2021 debut. Wallace is the most prominent Black driver in modern NASCAR and the highest-finishing African-American driver in Cup Series history.
Born October 8, 1993 in Mobile, Alabama, Wallace grew up racing in his father's late model program before moving up through the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and the Camping World Truck Series, where he became the first Black driver to win a NASCAR national-series race in modern history with a 2013 Truck victory at Martinsville Speedway. He is a graduate of NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program.
Wallace has multiple NASCAR Cup Series victories. His first career Cup win came at Talladega Superspeedway in October 2021, the first Black driver's victory in the Cup Series since Wendell Scott in 1963. His 2022 Kansas Speedway win made him the first Black driver to win multiple Cup races. In 2025, Wallace captured the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, becoming the first Black driver to win a major race at the iconic 2.5-mile oval and delivering 23XI Racing's first crown-jewel victory.
Wallace and his wife Amanda welcomed their first child in 2024. He has used his platform to advocate for diversity and inclusion across motorsports, working closely with NASCAR on those initiatives.
